Boating Safety Tips

Helpful safety reminders before heading out on the water.

Wear a properly fitted life jacket. Check weather, waves, currents, storms, and fog. File a float plan with family or friends.

Never drink alcohol when operating a boat. Maintain safe speed. Know the rules of the road. Keep a designated lookout.

Carry proper safety equipment, registration, owner’s manual, fuel, oil, and a Coast Guard approved working fire extinguisher.
